Overview
수의대를 다니던 클라이언트는 축산 전문 수의사로 군 복무하던 중 매일매일 도축되지만, 비선호 부위가 버려지는 축산물 수급 불균형 문제를 발견했습니다. 한 가축의 희생은 충분한 의미가 있어야 한다고 여긴 클라이언트는 이러한 비선호 부위도 활용한 육가공품을 개발하기로 결심했습니다. 독일로 건너가 육가공 마이스터 과정을 수료한 후, 염도를 50% 낮추고 화학첨가물을 제거하며, 지역 특산물(단양 마늘, 청양고추 등)을 첨가한 수제 햄을 개발했습니다. 이처럼 건강하고 의미 있는 소비문화를 선도하는 샤르베티에의 수제 햄&소시지를 향한 진심과 전문성을 디자인에 나타내고자 하였습니다.
The client, who was attending veterinary school and was serving in the military as a veterinarian specializing in livestock farming, discovered the problem of supply-demand imbalance in livestock products, which were slaughtered every day, but non-preferred parts were discarded. The client believed that the sacrifice of one animal should be meaningful and decided to develop a meat product that also utilized these non-preferred parts. After moving to Germany and completing a meat processing meister course, he developed a handmade ham that lowered the salt content by 50%, removed chemical additives, and added local specialties (Danyang garlic, Cheongyang pepper, etc.). In this way, we wanted to express in the design the sincerity and expertise toward handmade ham and sausages of Charvetier, a leader in healthy and meaningful consumption culture.
Brand Directionality
수제 햄 & 소시지를 직접 생산하고 유통하는 본사와 함께 오픈 준비 중이었던 햄 다이닝바를 아우를 수 있는 브랜드 로고 디자인을 원하셨습니다. 이에 다양한 활용이 가능한 브랜드 아이덴티티가 필요하다고 판단하여 여러 가지의 로고 타입을 제작 진행하였습니다. 또한, 축산물 도축부터 육가공 마이스터, 독일 육가공 대회에서의 금상 경험이 있는, 샤르베티에의 전문성을 대표하는 인장(or 스탬프) 같은 형태의 로고 디자인을 개발하여 프리미엄 수제 햄 & 소시지의 매력을 강조하는 디자인을 진행하고자 하였습니다.
They wanted a brand logo design that could encompass the ham dining bar that was preparing to open along with the headquarters that directly produces and distributes handmade ham and sausage. Therefore, we decided that a brand identity that could be used in a variety of ways was needed, so we created several logo types. In addition, we developed a logo design in the form of a seal (or stamp) that represents the expertise of Charvetier, which has experience in livestock slaughter, meat processing Meister, and gold medals in German meat processing competitions, and carried out a design that emphasizes the appeal of premium handmade ham & sausages.
